The Israeli occupation army launched a series of raids across various cities and towns in the occupied West Bank early on Monday morning and arrested more Palestinians, Anadolu has reported. According to witnesses, Israeli troops raided Jenin city and refugee camp in the north of the occupied Palestinian territory, storming several homes in the eastern part of the city.

The raids sparked fighting with Palestinian residents. Witnesses described hearing explosions intermittently throughout the operation. One person was injured by live fire during the army incursion, medical sources in Jenin told the agency.

In a separate operation, the Israeli army raided Ramallah in the central West Bank, targeting the Tira neighbourhood. The raid led to confrontations with dozens of Palestinians, said witnesses. Soldiers arrested a resident after assaulting him and allowing police dogs to attack him.

In Qalqilya, local sources reported that the Israeli army conducted a raid and detained at least one individual. The Israeli military also carried out raids in parts of Bethlehem and Hebron in the southern West Bank, as well as in other areas of Ramallah, before withdrawing.

At the time of writing, no official statement had been released by authorities or organisations concerned with prisoners’ affairs regarding the total number of detainees.

Israel has killed at least 620 Palestinians in the West Bank since 7 October and injured nearly 5,400 others in the occupied territory, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

In a landmark advisory opinion on 19 July, the International Court of Justice declared Israel’s decades-long occupation of Palestinian land to be illegal. The court demanded the evacuation of all existing Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem and for reparations to be paid to Palestinians.
