Gaza: 115 babies under eight months old killed by Israel

At least 115 Palestinian babies under eight months old have been killed by Israel since last October, the spokesman for the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip revealed on Tuesday. Ashraf Al-Qudra pointed out that the killing of newborn twins Aysel and Asser Abu al-Qumsan on Tuesday brought to 48 the number of babies less than a month old to have been killed in the Israeli genocide.

The twins were born on 10 August, and were killed along with their mother and maternal grandmother as their father went to the authorities to collect their birth certificates.

Al-Qudra noted that 47 babies were aged between one and three months when they were killed by the Israelis; 15 were between four and six months; and five were martyred between six and eight months. Of the total killed, 53 were baby boys and 62 were baby girls.

The Israeli occupation army has destroyed homes, hospitals, schools and other civilian infrastructure in its genocidal offensive. It also continues to block the entry of humanitarian aid, including fresh water, food, medicine and fuel.

At least 39,965 Palestinians have been killed since last October, with another 92,294 wounded. An estimated 10,000 more are missing, presumed dead, under the rubble of their homes. Ninety per cent of the Gaza Strip’s population has been displaced, according to the UN.
