Palestinian communities in the United States have accused Secretary of State Antony Blinken of playing the role of Israel’s foreign minister, and not that of the top diplomat and representative of Washington, according to Al-Resalah Net news site.
The site quoted a member of the US Palestinian Community Network and a Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) activist, Rahef Lafi Awadallah, as saying that the Biden administration’s position is “a confirmation of its full and complete partnership in the war of extermination that has been targeting the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip for the eleventh consecutive month, as well as targeting the West Bank and Jerusalem.”
Awadallah stressed that the US administration is using the ceasefire talks as an electoral card only, advancing or delaying them according to what achieves its interest in the elections and in the opinion polls conducted by American institutions.
He stressed that both the Republican and Democratic parties are putting Palestinian blood on “the election bazaar”, and using it in a competition of “who will provide more satisfaction to the Israeli lobby”.
Awadallah stressed that this position expresses the reality of the American political scene, which completely abandons the alleged principles and values that America calls for, and only adheres to what achieves success in the presidential race.
