Noatum Logistics, a subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, launched a new rail logistics solution for the Middle East region yesterday.

According to a company statement, the first rail shuttle service will operate between Khalifa Port and Fujairah Terminals via the UAE’s national railway network, developed and operated by Etihad Rail.

The statement indicated that the service will provide weekly trips that can transport up to 156 20-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) or 78 Forty-Foot Equivalent Units (FEUs) per direction via a single train.

Depending on the volume of demand, the service can include trucking from the first mile to the last mile, providing customers with seamless and comprehensive transportation services throughout the supply chain.

Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, managing director and Group CEO at AD Ports Group, said: “The inaugural journey of the first commercial train shuttle from Khalifa Port to Fujairah Terminals is a major milestone for our broader AD Ports Group family.”

“The journey comes within the framework of our efforts to achieve the vision of our leadership, which aims to enhance connectivity across the UAE and the Middle East region in general,” he added.
