In one of the cases, the decision to revoke citizenship is in line with Article 21 of the Kuwaiti Citizenship Law 15/1959 and its amendments and with Article 13 for 83 other cases.

According to decrees issued last Saturday, nine people’s citizenship was revoked several days ago in Kuwait due to violations of the Nationality Law.
The reasons for revoking citizenship varied, but the most common reasons were obtaining citizenship through fraud or false statements or being convicted of crimes violating honour or trust within 15 years of obtaining citizenship.
According to the media, the decision also included revoking the citizenship of the individuals’ dependents.
Last month, the Kuwaiti minister of defence and minister of interior announced in a statement to Al-Qabas newspaper that 850 people had been stripped of Kuwaiti citizenship.
