Israeli soldiers throw Palestinian bodies off rooftop

Footage has emerged showing Israeli occupation forces throwing the bodies of Palestinians they had killed during a military operation in the occupied West Bank town of Qabatiya off the rooftops of houses . Israel says it is launching an investigation into the incidents.

Video footage has emerged showing Israeli occupation soldiers pushing the bodies of three Palestinians they had killed off rooftops during a military operation in Qabatiya, a town south of Jenin in the occupied West Bank.

According to Wafa news agency, the large-scale offensive, which lasted nearly ten hours, resulted in the deaths of seven Palestinians and left 11 others wounded by live ammunition.

“This is a serious incident that is not in line with IDF values ​​and what is expected of IDF soldiers,” the military said, confirming that the offence was being investigated.

According to the occupation army, four Palestinians were killed during the raid, and soldiers from the Duvdevan unit employed a “pressure cooker” tactic, escalating gunfire to force suspects out of the building. The offensive also included drone strikes that targeted a vehicle near a local café, killing two young men and injuring another young man and a child.

Footage circulating on social media shows soldiers mishandling the bodies of three Palestinians. In the video, three soldiers are seen dragging a lifeless body across a rooftop before throwing it over the edge, while other troops are stationed on the ground below. Other footage shows a nearby rooftop, where soldiers swing another body by its limbs over the side. In a third instance, a soldier kicks a body toward the edge of the roof, causing it to fall out of view.

Photos from the scene show a military bulldozer operating near the buildings where the bodies were discarded.Other journalists present also reported witnessing the bodies being pushed from the rooftops.

Palestinian Red Crescent teams later recovered the body of Shadi Sami Zakarneh, one of the seven victims, from a house that had been bombed and surrounded by Israeli forces. Medical teams at the town’s emergency centre confirmed another fatality later in the day from injuries sustained during the operation.

The Qabatiya municipality identified the seven victims as Mohammad Khalid Abu Rob, Omar Hamza Abu Rob, Ahmad Maher Zakarneh, Mustafa Faisal Zakarneh, Fadi Joudat Hanaysheh, Mohammad Omar Kmeil and Shadi Sami Zakarneh.

It condemned the killings as a massacre and slammed the offences as “a new crime committed by the occupation amid the international community’s troubling silence.”

Since the beginning of Israel’s war on Gaza in October last year, Israeli forces and settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of more than 700 Palestinians.
