In his first comment following the Israeli raid on the southern suburb of Beirut, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “We have just begun… and we will work to change the Middle East,” according to Al-Qahera News.
The Israeli occupation army confirmed that it carried out a precise raid in Beirut that assassinated Ibrahim Aqil, head of the Hezbollah operations division.
The occupation army added that the raid led to the assassination of a number of operations division leaders in the Radwan unit, including those who prepared a plan to storm Galilee.
He continued that Aqil and the targeted leaders were among those planning to storm Galilee in a manner similar to the events of 7 October in Gaza.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health issued a statement announcing that the number of victims of the Israeli raid on the southern suburb of the capital, Beirut, had risen to nine people.
Two Lebanese security sources told Reuters that a prominent leader in the Lebanese Hezbollah group, Aqil, was killed in an Israeli strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut.
One of the sources confirmed that Aqil was killed alongside members of Hezbollah’s Radwan unit while they were holding a meeting.
Media reports, citing Lebanese sources, said that Aqil, known as “Hajj Tahseen”, was released from the hospital this morning after being injured in the pager explosions, only to be killed in an Israeli raid on the Dahieh district.
Sky News Arabia also reported that there was news that Mohammad Reza, deputy commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in the Israeli raid on Beirut.
