Journalist told to remove Palestine t-shirt in UAE airport

Sports journalist Leyla Hamed was told to remove her football jersey with 'Palestine' written in Arabic across the front by staff at Abu Dhabi Airport in UAE. Hamed said that it was 'not normal' to ask someone to change their t-shirt during an exchange with airport staff backed up by military personnel who then confiscated her passport and boarding pass for 40 minutes and followed her around the airport.
