Houthis: Israel’s bombing of Hudaydah are ‘failed strikes’

Israel carries out air strikes against a power plant in Yemen yesterday following a Houthi missile attack on Israel. Israel also targeted the port in Hudaydah, claiming the Houthis use it to transfer Iranian arms across the Middle East.

Israel’s targeting on Hudaydah were “failed strikes”, the Deputy Head of the Houthis’ Media Authority in the Sana’a government, Nasr Al-Din Amer, said in a post on X yesterday.

“Don’t worry… They were failed strikes,” Amer wrote.

“Precautions were taken, and oil tanks were emptied in advance in the port of Ras Issa and the port of Hudaydah and an emergency plan was put in place,” he explained.

Ansar Allah – the Houthis – political bureau member Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, confirmed that the military operations supporting Gaza and Lebanon, as well as those targeting American and British forces and interests, will continue.

He stated that “the attacks on Hudaydah that targeted the ports of Hudaydah and Ras Issa and the power plant, are American and British attacks and we will deal with it on this basis.”

Al-Bukhaiti noted that Israel is nothing more than a military extension of Washington and London and is used as a cover to evade moral responsibility.

The spokesman for Ansar Allah, Mohammed Abdul Salam, also said that the recent Israeli attack on civilian facilities in Hudaydah is an attempt to halt Yemen’s moves to support Gaza.

The Israeli army announced on Sunday evening that it had attacked Houthi targets in Yemen. “In a large-scale operation, dozens of Air Force aircraft, including fighter jets, refuelling and intelligence planes, under the direction of the Military Intelligence Directorate, attacked military targets of the Houthi terrorist regime in the areas of Ras Issa and Hodeidah in Yemen,” it said.

“The targets included power plants and a seaport, which were used by the Houthis to transfer Iranian weapons to the region, in addition to military supplies and oil.”

“The attack was carried out in response to the latest attacks carried out by the Houthi regime against the State of Israel,” the statement added.

The Israeli raids come as tensions in the Middle East grow following Tel Aviv’s assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah, and its intensive raids on Lebanese cities and towns since 23 September.
