The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) yesterday warned of an imminent health disaster due to “mountains of garbage” piling up in central Gaza.
In a post on X, it added that “sewage leaks onto streets.”

“Sanitary and living conditions across Gaza are inhumane,” it warned, noting that “Families have no choice but to live beside the accumulated waste, exposed to the reek and the threat of a looming health disaster.”
The Israeli occupation army has continued its aggression on the Gaza Strip for 360 days, with American and European support, as its aircraft bomb hospitals, buildings, towers and the homes of Palestinian civilians and destroy them over the heads of their residents. The occupation also prevents the entry of water, food, medicine and fuel, causing waste services to stop working.
The ongoing aggression by the occupation on Gaza has killed more than 41,595 Palestinians, injured more than 96,251 others, and displaced 90 per cent of the enclave’s population, according to UN data.
