Yemen’s ruling Houthis announced on Monday that electricity supplies in the Hudaydah Governorate are out of service after being targeted by Israeli raids on Sunday. The announcement was made by Deputy Governor Ahmed Mahdi Al-Bishr during a press conference in Hudaydah, reported Al-Masirah.

“The Israeli enemy targeted Hudaydah on Sunday with 17 raids using American-made bombs,” said Al-Bishr. “The targets included four vital service sites, namely the power stations and ports of Hudaydah, Al-Hali and Ras Katheeb, and the fuel tanks in the Ras Issa oil port.”

Al-Bishr explained that the electricity service in Hudaydah and its surrounding area went out of service as a result of the damage that the stations sustained after the direct and systematic bombing by the “American-Zionist enemy”.

Earlier on Monday, the Houthi group announced that the number of victims of the Israeli “aggression” on Sunday in Hudaydah Governorate had risen to six killed and 57 wounded.

“Dozens of aircraft attacked military targets of the Houthi regime… in the Ras Issa and Hudaydah areas in Yemen,” said the Israeli occupation army on Sunday. It added that it attacked “power plants and a seaport used to transport weapons, in response to the recent Houthi attacks on Israel.”

The bombing of Hudaydah came after the group launched two ballistic missiles on Friday and Saturday, towards Israel, both of which were intercepted by the occupation state’s air defence system.
