The mayor of Acre (Akka) said yesterday that the city has no tourists due to Hezbollah missiles. “The sirens sound daily in the city, and many were unable to escape to the shelters,” Amihai Ben Shlush told Reshet Bet radio as Hezbollah continues to fire missiles towards northern Israel. “Acre is a tourist city, but has no tourists. The situation is sad.”

In the same context, Israel’s Maariv newspaper reported that air raid sirens went off in the city of Hadera coinciding with Hezbollah launching a large-scale missile attack on the Western Galilee. Channel 12 quoted the Israeli army’s Home Front Command as saying that sirens also sounded in Nahariyya and several other towns in the Upper Galilee for fear of a drone infiltrating from Lebanon.

Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli army announced the launch of 40 rockets from Lebanon towards northern Israel within an hour, reported Channel 7.

The Israeli regime also announced that 25 of its soldiers were injured in fighting in Lebanon, two of them seriously. According to numerous international reports, Israel imposes strict military censorship on its media regarding human and material losses resulting from Hezbollah strikes, for many reasons, including preserving the morale of Israeli citizens.

This censorship is because what is happening on the Lebanese front has been unprecedented since the 1948 Nakba. The security doctrine established in Israeli society is based on the principle of “transferring the battle to enemy territory,” but Hezbollah missiles are reaching most parts of Israel, including Tel Aviv.

Israel has expanded the scope of its genocide in Gaza on 23 September, and has been attacking most of Lebanon, including the capital Beirut, through air strikes and a ground invasion. As of Saturday evening, the Israeli occupation forces had killed 1,437 Lebanese, and wounded 4,123, including a large number of women and children. The offensive has displaced more than 1,340,000 people, according to Anadolu’s monitoring of official Lebanese data.

Hezbollah responds daily with missiles, drones and artillery shells targeting military sites and settlements.
