US President Joe Biden permits Israel to do “whatever it wants without humanitarian restraints or moral boundaries,” the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr Ahmed Al-Tayeb, said.
“The Democratic and Republican parties in the United States have disagreed on everything except their unconditional and unlimited support for the Zionist entity,” Al-Tayeb added.
The US has provided Israel with billions in arms even as it carries out what the International Court of Justice (ICJ) called “plausible genocide” against the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip. In a little over a year more than 42,000 Palestinians have been killed as a result of Israel’s bombing campaign, however global medical teams believe the true death toll is four times more.
Sheikh Al-Tayeb received Professor Jeffrey Sachs, president of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Solutions Network, in Cairo, according to a statement from Al-Azhar on Sunday.

Al-Tayeb expressed his astonishment that no state or power has been able to stand up to the “evil Zionist schemes aimed at killing Palestinians, escalating conflicts, and turning the region and the entire world into a hotspot of wars and strife.”
He condemned the Democratic and Republican parties’ unwavering, absolute support for the Zionist entity, and their commitment to standing behind it even if its actions are based on falsehoods.
He added: “I can only explain this by assuming that there are undisclosed American-Israeli interests.”
“I feel that the Zionist entity has exploited all its efforts under an American president (Joe Biden) who is loyal to Israel and allows it to do whatever it wants, without humanitarian or ethical constraints.”
