President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said yesterday that Turkiye is taking all kinds of precautions to confront Israel’s threat to the region including against Ankara, Anadolu reported.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Future of Palestine conference in Ankara, Erdogan said: “We can guess where this expansion will extend if Israel, whose atrocities are constantly increasing, is not curbed.”
He warned that “death in Gaza and Lebanon is not limited to children, women, the elderly and civilians only, but also includes the conscience of humanity and the common heritage that extends for thousands of years.”
Erdogan has slammed the international community and Security Council’s silence on Israel’s atrocities and pledged that his country will continue to stand firmly with the Palestinian people who are heroically defending their homeland despite the lack of capabilities.
On Saturday, Erdogan said Israel’s aggression cannot be overlooked and emphasised that Turkiye’s intelligence agency is closely monitoring potential actions Israel may take against it.
“At the moment, we are monitoring every step Israel has taken or may take towards Turkiye through our intelligence agency, from A to Z,” Erdogan told journalists.
In response to a question about Israeli attacks on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and Syria, Erdogan emphasised that if Israel occupies Damascus, it would mean Israeli soldiers would be at Turkiye’s border.
