A Hamas delegation yesterday concluded a four-day visit to Algeria, the movement said in a statement.
According to the statement, the delegation visited Algeria at the invitation of one of the political parties which called for the movement to attend a rally held to mark the first anniversary of the ‘Al-Aqsa Flood Operation’.
The delegation was led by member of the movement’s political bureau, Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, and its representative in Algeria, Yusuf Hamdan. They met with Algerian National Assembly Speaker Salah Goudjil and many political figures and organisations in the country.
It affirmed the importance of Algeria’s backing of the Palestinian resistance and efforts to unite Palestinian national ranks and called for Algeria to continue to pressure the international community to stop the Israeli crimes in the Gaza Strip, especially in the northern areas, and to send aid to the besieged enclave. It also hoped that Algeria would receive more wounded Palestinians for treatment in its hospitals.
