Lebanon’s health minister has said that 13 hospitals in the country are completely or partially out of service as a result of Israeli bombs, the Palestinian Information Centre has reported. Israel’s offensive against its northern neighbour has been escalating since September.
“The Israeli occupation regime is repeating in Beirut what it has done in Gaza,” Firas Al-Abyad told journalists on Tuesday. “It is targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.”
The minister affirmed that there is a lot of pressure on the health sector resulting from the Israeli offensive, adding that the Israeli attacks have killed 150 paramedics and health workers. He stressed the need for a ceasefire in Lebanon, and called for more medical and humanitarian support for the country.
