The military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Al-Qassam Brigades, announced on Monday the death of an Israeli female captive in the northern Gaza Strip, coinciding with the ongoing major Israeli attacks on Jabalia refugee camp.
A leading source in the Hamas brigades told Al-Jazeera that, “An Israeli female captive was killed in northern Gaza Strip recently under mysterious circumstances, in one of the combat zones.” The source stressed that the circumstances of her death are being investigated but, “We do not intend to publish the name of the dead captive for security reasons.”
Al-Qassam Brigades stated previously that it managed to trap an Israeli engineering force in an ambush, explaining that its fighters spotted a tank, an armoured personnel carrier and two military bulldozers loaded with a number of cubes of highly destructive explosive materials at the ambush site.
“Our fighters targeted the first bulldozer with a Yassin 105 shell and the second bulldozer with a ‘Shawaz’ explosive device, which led to the destruction of the vehicles,” said a brigades’ spokesman. “The crews were either killed or wounded in the incident to the west of the Jabalia camp.”
