The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced yesterday that the death toll among health sector workers has risen to 167, with 275 injured since the onset of Israeli attacks on Lebanon in October 2023, Anadolu reported, citing a statement that was released by the ministry yesterday.
The statement noted that this figure rose following the deaths of three paramedics in an Israeli air strike targeting a rescue centre run by the Al-Resala Health Ambulance Association, an affiliate of the Amal Movement, in Ain Baal, a town in southern Lebanon.
The ministry emphasised that “targeting paramedics constitutes a war crime, and the international community must bear its responsibility to put an end to this.”
Earlier yesterday, Lebanon’s state news agency reported that “three martyrs were killed following Israel’s targeting of a new centre belonging to the Al-Resala Health Ambulance Association.”
The Amal Movement, led by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, mourned the deaths of the three martyrs Hassan Sobhi Shibli, Ahmad Mahmoud Murad and Sobhi Moussa Shibli in s on X.
