Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has asserted that the United States was involved in the recent Israeli strikes on Iran.
Araghchi said in a televised interview that “the Americans were clearly involved in the attack.” He explained, “The Americans provided an air corridor for the Zionist air force, and the defensive equipment they had previously sent to them constitutes a form of participation in the recent operations.”
“We believe the United States’ involvement with the Zionist entity in fuelling regional tensions is entirely clear,” he added.
Araghchi also highlighted the widespread international condemnation of the Israeli attack, noting, “The global level of condemnation against this aggressive operation by the Zionist entity was remarkably high.”
In the early hours of Saturday, the Israeli military announced a four-hour assault on Iran, which confirmed it had successfully countered “attempts by the Zionist entity to strike certain sites in Tehran and the country.”
According to a statement from the Iranian army, the Israeli attack resulted in the death of four soldiers.
Earlier this month, Iran launched over 180 missiles at Israel, describing the action as “retaliation” for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas’s political bureau while he was on an official visit to Tehran; Hassan Nasrallah, secretary-general of Hezbollah; and Abbas Nilforoushan, a commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
