Yemen’s Houthi armed forces unveiled a new naval weapon, “Al-Qari’a” — a drone submarine designed to deliver powerful underwater explosions and target even the largest US warships.

The Sanaa government unveiled the new arms during an extensive military exercise yesterday, from Yemen’s western coast codenamed “To Disfigure Your Faces”. According to the Yemen Press Agency, the manoeuvres fall within the framework of the battle of “The promised conquest and the holy jihad,” which the Houthi-aligned Yemeni armed forces are waging in support of Palestine and Lebanon.

The exercises also saw the participation of the General Mobilisation Forces, who simulated defending Yemeni territory from an attempted airdrop by enemy forces.

During the manoeuvres, a senior Yemeni military source was quoted by Al-Mayadeen as saying that “the manoeuvre comes within the framework of preparation and readiness for any upcoming confrontation with Washington and its tools in Yemen,” and that it is also a type of “support for the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.”
He warned: “America and Britain must understand they will not be spared from any adventure in Yemen and should learn from their previous naval and air failures.”
The military source added that “the resistance and jihad movements in Gaza and Lebanon should rest assured that they are not alone and Yemen can never stop supporting them.”
