The Israeli parliament, the Knesset, approved a bill on Tuesday allowing the deportation of family members of individuals who carry out attacks against Israelis, WAFA has reported. The bill will soon be presented to the Knesset for second and third readings and a final vote before becoming law.
Under the proposed bill, the occupation regime’s interior minister will be able order the deportation of family members if they were aware of the attacker’s plans, expressed support for the attack or praised the attacker publicly.
Moreover, if the attacker is a citizen of Israel, their family members could be deported for seven years. If the attacker is from the occupied Palestinian territories, however, the deportation period could extend to ten years.
