The northern Gaza Strip has been under tight Israeli siege for more than three weeks, and health officials say more than 1,200 people have been killed by Israeli attacks during that time, the Palestinian Information Centre reported.
According to Director of Gaza’s Ministry of Health, Munir Al-Barsh, the Israeli occupation army has banned vital medical supplies from entering northern Gaza since it tightened its siege on the area three weeks ago.
Al-Barsh affirmed that the Israeli occupation army continues to commit massacres and attack shelters in northern Gaza, adding that scores of citizens who refused to leave Beit Lahia were bombed.
“The occupation is isolating the citizens in the area while committing massacres silently. We were surprised by the burning of a house with an entire family inside. Medical crews were able to arrive at the scene 18 hours later,” Al-Barsh said.
The Ministry of Health said the death toll from the ongoing Israeli bombardments and shooting attacks, which started on 7 October 2023, climbed to 43,061 Palestinians killed and the number of the wounded surged to 101,223 people.
