In light of Washington’s unlimited support for the genocide against the Palestinian people, the Times of Israel reported that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the Israeli attacks on Gaza until he takes office if he wins the election. The newspaper quoted two unnamed sources familiar with the matter.

The US presidential election is scheduled for 5 November. Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris, the current Vice President, are neck and neck in the polls.

The sources, a former official in the Trump administration and an Israeli official, said that Trump conveyed his message to end the attacks on Gaza when he hosted Netanyahu at his private resort, Mar-a-Lago, in Florida in July.

Trump has previously supported Netanyahu publicly regarding attacks on Gaza and Lebanon. Both officials confirmed that this is the first time that a timetable has been put forward regarding the attacks.

According to the Times of Israel, the former US official confirmed that Trump could support the Israeli army remaining in Gaza as long as the regime “officially ends the war”.

The Washington Post, meanwhile, quoted informed sources on 25 October as saying that Trump told Netanyahu in a recent phone call, “Do what you have to do” regarding Hamas and the Lebanese Hezbollah.
