An Israeli military source confirmed that Tel Aviv is on high alert due to the possibility of Iran responding to recent attacks, possibly before the US elections scheduled for 5 November.

CNN quoted the military source stating that Israel is at a “high level of readiness” for a response from Iran, noting that it comes after a high-ranking source told CNN that Iran could respond to Israel’s attacks before the US presidential election.

The source noted that the recent Israeli strikes targeting missile production facilities and air defence systems in Iran have “created a dilemma for Tehran” because its capability to strike Israel and defend against future Israeli strikes has been degraded.

Earlier, a senior Iranian source confirmed that Tehran would carry out a decisive and painful response to the recent Israeli attack. The source did not specify an exact date for the expected attack but noted that it will likely occur before the US presidential election.

Axios quoted two unnamed Israeli sources on Thursday indicating that there is Israeli intelligence indicating that Iran is preparing to attack the occupation from Iraqi territory in the coming days.

The website pointed out that the attack may occur before the US presidential election on 5 November and that the attack is expected to be carried out from Iraq, using a large number of drones and ballistic missiles.

It also noted that attacking pro-Iran armed groups in Iraq may be an attempt by Tehran to avoid another Israeli attack against strategic targets in Iran.

On Tuesday, a senior member of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) threatened that the occupation would receive significant blows in the coming days following the Israeli attack that targeted military sites in Iranian territory.

Saberin News quoted the assistant commander of the IRGC for coordination affairs, Mohammad Reza Naqdi, declaring: “The Zionist entity will receive more deadly blows in the coming days.”

According to Daneshjoo News Agency, he did not specify who would launch the attack on the occupation but asserted: “The Zionists will be surprised by new actions, initiatives and innovations and will suffer greater defeats.”
