Last weekend, Fatah and Hamas signed an agreement in Cairo to set up a joint technocratic government to rule Gaza as part of the post-war reconstruction, Anadolu News Agency reports.
According to the report, the deal seeks to establish a single administration to manage the reconstruction effort and provide basic services in Gaza.
The new government, composed of technocrats from both parties, will focus on providing essential services and reconstruction, the report says.
“We’re steadfast on the well-being of the people of Gaza and look forward to a single Palestinian government that takes reconstruction and human needs above political competition,” a Hamas spokesperson said.
