Deputy Head of the Houthis’ Media Authority, Nasr Al-Din Amer, said the group has rejected lucrative temptations including improving the economic situation in Yemen and a political solution to the internal conflict there in return for abandoning the besieged Gaza Strip.
Speaking about the Yemeni role in supporting the Palestinians in Gaza, Amer said there is great pressure to separate the Gaza support fronts in parallel with lucrative offers to dissuade the group from defending Gaza, which were all rejected.
“Unity is a point of strength which worries the [Israeli] Zionist enemy and disturbs it.”
Amer explained that the group has now reached the fifth stage of escalation, and is developing its capabilities, adding that the coming days will witness different forms of escalation.
“We are the ones who struck Israel before it struck us, and history will record that Yemen has besieged this arrogant enemy in the region by sea and prevented ships from passing to it,” he added.
Amer warned that if the current battle expands, and if some countries get involved in supporting the enemy, Yemen’s involvement will change from “support” to “direct confrontation”.
He pointed out that the group has sent warnings to countries in the region against expanding the war amidst American attempts to involve them. “We told them that it is not in their interest to participate in this war or in the fall of Gaza.”
“Washington and Tel Aviv want escalation in the region and seek to involve countries in the region in the war,” he said.
