A young Palestinian man was killed today by the Israeli occupation forces, and others were wounded in confrontations in Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm in the northern West Bank, the Palestinian Information Centre reported. The dead man and five wounded people, including one woman, were taken to Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in the city by crews from the Palestine Red Crescent Society.
The society named the dead man as 22-year-old Harith Awfi, a resident of the refugee camp. Eyewitnesses said that he was shot in the heart by an Israeli sniper. His body was carried outside the camp by volunteers because the occupation forces would not allow an ambulance to enter the camp.
On Thursday morning, an Israeli drone bombed sites in the camp twice. Five people were wounded by shrapnel, including a woman and her disabled son.
