At least 26 Palestinians were killed and many others injured as Israeli air strikes targeted several areas in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, sources said, Anadolu Agency reports.
Medical sources at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis told Anadolu that they received bodies of nine people killed in an Israeli attack on a tent sheltering displaced people in the city.
Separately, seven people were killed and many others injured in an air strike targeting the Fadi Al-Sabah School, which had been used as a shelter for displaced families on Yafa Street, east of Gaza City. The injured and deceased were taken to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.
In Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, an air strike targeted the Abu Jarad family’s home in Al-Manshiyya, killing a resident and injuring four children, the sources said.
Five Palestinians, including children, also lost their lives and four others were injured in an air strike targeting a house in the Jabalia refugee camp, according to medical sources.
Four Palestinians were also killed in an Israeli air strike targeting a tent sheltering displaced people in the town of Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis, according to a medical source at the Gaza European Hospital.
Israel has continued a devastating offensive on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, killing more than 43,000 Palestinians and rendering the enclave almost uninhabitable. It faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its actions in the blockaded enclave.
There is a “strong likelihood that famine is imminent in areas” of northern Gaza Strip, the independent Famine Review Committee said on Friday.
