An Israeli party leader stated on Sunday that Lebanon’s Hezbollah is far stronger than the Palestinian movement Hamas and has yet to be defeated, a leader of one of Israel’s opposition parties has said.

Yair Golan, head of the Labor Party, noted that “Hezbollah is far stronger than Hamas, and the Israeli military has not defeated it yet.”

Golan added that, despite this, the Israeli government under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is working towards reaching a settlement in the north with the Lebanese party.

He emphasised that “Netanyahu’s refusal to reach a prisoner exchange agreement in Gaza because Hamas has not been completely defeated, is illogical, unprofessional and needlessly endangers Israeli lives.”
