Panathinaikos fans displayed Palestinian and Lebanese flags and banners during yesterday’s Turkish Airlines EuroLeague basketball game in the Greek capital, Athens.
Fans raised huge banners reading “Stop Genocide” and “Freedom to Palestine” in solidarity with Palestine and Lebanon at Oaka Altion.
The EuroLeague Round 9 clash between Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv ended with a 93-87 score in favour of the Greek side.
Greece had increased security around the game after Maccabi Tel Aviv football fans rioted in Amsterdam last week, attacking Arab taxi drivers, damaging private property and chanting racist slurs.
