Yemen’s Houthi group yesterday announced that they had carried out a military operation targeting a critical site in central Israel using a hypersonic missile, the German Press Agency (DPA) reported.
In a statement, Houthi spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree said: “The armed forces carried out an operation targeting a vital site in the occupied Yaffa area using a hypersonic missile, Palestine 2, which successfully hit its target.”
He confirmed that the group would intensify its military operations using missiles and drones to support the fighters in besieged Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank.
The Houthis announced their first operation involving missiles and drones against Israel on 31 October 2023. Since then, the group has claimed numerous attacks on sites in southern Israel using ballistic missiles and drones.
