Israel continues violating ceasefire: 1 killed, Lebanese soldier injured

An Israeli drone strike targeted a motorbike in Jdeidat Marjayoun, southern Lebanon, killing a civilian, Lebanese media reported yesterday.

The incident occurred amidst Israel’s continued violations of the ceasefire agreement.

An Israeli drone also targeted a bulldozer belonging to the Lebanese army as it was conducting fortification work at Al-Abara Military Post in Hosh Al-Sayyid Ali, Al-Hermel, moderately injuring a soldier, according to Arab48.

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the army announced the discovery of an officer’s body in his car in Naqoura. He was killed after being targeted by Israeli occupation forces, it said. The officer had been missing since 26 November and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of his death, it added.

Earlier, the Lebanese Army confirmed multiple ceasefire breaches by Israel, stating that the leadership is monitoring the violations in coordination with relevant authorities.

The ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah came into effect early on Wednesday.
