Israel has breached its ceasefire agreement with Lebanon “approximately 100” times since the truce went into effect last week, CNN reported a source with the United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) saying on Monday.

Occupation forces have shot at civilians returning to their homes, killing a couple and completely demolishing a mosque in the town of Maroun Al-Ras in the Bint Jbeil District of southern Lebanon.

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that Israel committed 24 violations of the ceasefire agreement on Saturday alone.

In spite of this, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said during a NATO meeting that the ceasefire deal between Lebanese forces and Israel is holding, adding that any purported violations of the agreement that may have occurred were being addressed through a dedicated mechanism.

Private unconfirmed documents released following the signing of the truce claim Washington signed a separate agreement with Tel Aviv in which the US appointed Israel as the chief enforcer of the agreement; making it both party to and monitor of the ceasefire deal.
