Charities set up tents for 700 displaced families in Gaza

A group of international organisations have established a camp to house 700 families who have been displaced from southern Gaza and forced to move to the enclave’s coast.

The families have been repeatedly displaced as a result of Israel’s genocidal bombing of the Strip, occupation of large swathes of Gaza and destruction of residential property.

Many families fled to the coastal area of the Strip, however winter has brought with it higher tides which have flooded tents and dragged some out to sea, taking the refugees’ contents with them.

Israel has limited the aid allowed to enter the enclave since October 2023, with tent poles and other vital materials banned from entry, making this new camp a vital addition which will provide Palestinians with some cover as the cold winter days continue.
