Heavy Israeli bombing of Syria's port city of Tartous

Loud explosions heard in the Syrian port city of Tartus after a number of Israeli attacks. Since the fall of Bashar Al-Assad's regime, Israel has been carrying out hundreds of air strikes across Syria, seized control of more Syrian territory and announced plans to settle more Israelis in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

Israeli occupation forces have blown up a large military warehouse in Syria’s coastal area of Tartus, Army Radio announced today.

“The army blew up last night a large military warehouse in Tartus, dedicated to rockets, shells, mines and anti-tank shells,” the radio station reported.

It claimed that the warehouse contained “a huge amount of weapons”, adding that “the Israeli army destroyed most of the strategic military equipment of the [ousted regime of Bashar] Assad’s army.”

As of 12:00 GMT, no comment has been issued by the Israeli army regarding the attack.

Following the collapse of the Ba’ath Party regime in Syria on 8 December, Israel has carried out hundreds of air strikes in various areas to destroy the regime’s military facilities.
