Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Deby yesterday announced that French military units will leave the country by 31 January, after the end of the cooperation agreement between the two countries.
He added: “We have given priority to Chad’s supreme interests by adhering to the sovereignty of our country.”
Deby confirmed that French soldiers will leave the country completely by the end of this month.
This comes after the Chadian government announced on 28 November the end of the security and defense cooperation agreement with France. French soldiers began leaving Chad on 10 December.
