Hamas is committed to the ceasefire deal in Gaza, member of the movement’s Political Bureau, Ezzat Al-Rishq, said yesterday, refuting claims by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that it had backtracked on parts of the deal.
Earlier in the day, Netanyahu’s office said in a statement, the Israeli cabinet will not meet until mediators confirm that Hamas has agreed to all elements of the deal.
This came after Qatar Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, announced on Wednesday that a ceasefire agreement had been officially reached in the Gaza Strip and will come into effect on Sunday.
