A Lebanese army soldier was injured yesterday during clashes with “unknown gunmen” on the border with Syria, the army said.
“While an army patrol was carrying out a security mission in the Qasr-Hermel area, on the Lebanese-Syrian border, unknown gunmen from the Syrian side opened fire on the patrol,” the army posted on X.
The Lebanese army added that the patrol members responded to the fire, and clashed with the assailants which resulted in the injury of one soldier who was transferred to a hospital for treatment.
The Lebanese army did not identify the gunmen and there was no comment from the Syrian side.
