The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced yesterday that the death toll from the Israeli aggression has surpassed 47,000.

In a statement, the ministry reported that the number of fatalities has risen to 47,035, with 111,091 individuals injured, based on the latest figures released on the second day of the truce, which came into effect on Sunday.

It added that Gaza hospitals received 122 fatalities, including 62 bodies recovered from underneath the rubble, and 341 injuries in the past 24 hours due to Israeli attacks.

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported that a Palestinian lost their life following the explosion of ordnance left behind by Israeli occupation forces east of Rafah city, in the southern part of Gaza.

The report also noted that the number of Palestinians wounded by Israeli gunfire in Rafah yesterday has risen to eight. According to medical sources quoted by the channel, the remains of 97 individuals were retrieved from various locations in Rafah since Sunday.

The ceasefire agreement in Gaza officially began Sunday morning, raising hopes for an end to the relentless bombardment and massacres committed by Israeli occupation forces over the past 470 days.
