The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported yesterday evening that the Israeli occupation army will not complete its withdrawal from southern Lebanon within the timeframe stipulated by the ceasefire agreement, which expires in 72 hours, Anadolu reported.
According to the official broadcaster, Israeli army representatives recently held a closed-door meeting with members of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee in the Knesset. During the meeting, the army confirmed that it “will not be able to withdraw from the entirety of southern Lebanon” within the agreement’s specified timeframe.
The broadcaster added that Major General Ori Gordin, head of the Northern Command, presented what was described as a “very grim picture” of the situation on the border with Lebanon during the meeting.
Despite hundreds of reported breaches of the agreement by the Israeli army, Gordin claimed that “Hezbollah is violating the ceasefire, with assistance from the Lebanese army,” according to the broadcaster.
