The Khartoum Emergency Room accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of stealing an ambulance belonging to Bashaer Hospital on Friday, in addition to looting food supplies from kitchens providing meals to civilians trapped amid the fighting. It warned against attacking the kitchens, which are the only source of food for residents trapped in conflict zones.

It said that a group of RSF personnel stole the hospital’s ambulance in the early hours of Friday morning, despite previous warnings not to attack the hospital, as it is the healthcare outlet for thousands of people trapped south of the Sudanese capital, Khartoum. It pointed out that the attack on the hospital is a new blatant violation added to the record of ongoing crimes by these forces, warning that targeting ambulances that work to save the lives of citizens is a crime that cannot be ignored.

It held the RSF fully responsible for the repercussions of seizing the ambulance and the ongoing attack on the hospital and its staff, calling on the leadership to take urgent measures to control its members.

If these violations continue and those involved are not held accountable, the South Khartoum Emergency Room confirmed it would be forced to withdraw from the hospital to preserve the safety of medical staff and patients.
