Iran yesterday revealed a new ballistic missile that it says is capable of travelling 1,700 kilometres, the Tasnim News Agency reported.
The agency said the missile was unveiled during a ceremony organised by the Ministry of Defence and attended by President Masoud Pezeshkian.
The 16-metre long missile named “Etemad” carries a guided warhead until the moment it hits the target, it added.
Local media quoted Pezeshkian as saying that developing Iran’s defence capabilities and space technologies “is not for war and offense, but for deterrence”.
