Qatar has launched an air bridge from King Abdullah II Air Base in Jordan to Al Qarara in Khan Yunis Governorate, Gaza Strip, to address the urgent humanitarian and medical needs of the population, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced yesterday. This is in addition to the land bridge previously established by Qatar, it added.

Qatar has sent 65 relief trucks through the Jordanian border since the truce took hold on 19 January.

The new air bridge has been set up to complement the land bridge, which is already in place, while two helicopter flights carrying vital medical aid will arrive in north Khan Yunis, the Qatari announcement said.

Qatar has provided 20,000 tents, which were shipped via a land bridge from Qatar to Jordan, adding that in cooperation with Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), the two are working to deliver these tents to northern Gaza.
