The Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Saudi Reef) will launch a three-day initiative in Madinah tomorrow to promote winter tourism and highlight the beauty of the Saudi countryside.

Saudi Reef Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Communication Majed Al-Buraikan said the initiative aims to support rural communities and showcase Madinah’s diverse tourism, farming and cultural assets. This initiative will enhance the visitor experience by offering a unique opportunity to enjoy the countryside in a distinctive winter atmosphere, reports the Saudi Press Agency.

Visitors can explore restaurants and cafés inspired by rural traditions and browse a variety of local products, including fresh fruits, honey, essential oils and handicrafts. The event will also feature tourism and entertainment experiences that highlight Saudi Arabia’s rich rural culture.

This initiative follows a similar effort in Taif last month, where Saudi Reef hosted an event to promote rural tourism and revitalise the region’s agricultural and cultural heritage. It featured interactive sessions on traditional farming, local handicrafts and 22 booths showcasing Taif’s famed roses, aromatic plants and local projects.

Saudi Reef’s initiatives are part of a broader strategy to strengthen rural economies, empower small businesses, and market local agricultural products while positioning the kingdom’s countryside as a key tourist destination.
