Israeli media reported that Defence Minister Israel Katz yesterday ordered the occupation army to prepare a plan to allow Palestinians residents of Gaza to leave the territory.

This comes after US President Donald Trump announced that Washington plans to take over Gaza and resettle Palestinians elsewhere.

According to Kan, Israel’s public broadcaster, Katz said in a statement: “I have instructed the Israeli army to prepare a plan to allow Gaza residents to leave voluntarily.”

He added that “the plan will include options for exit through land crossings, as well as special arrangements for departure by sea and air.”

“I welcome President Trump’s bold proposal, which offers the opportunity for many Gaza residents to relocate to various parts of the world.”

Applauding the move, far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said: “I welcome the minister’s directive to the Israeli army to prepare for our role in the migration plan and to facilitate the departure of Gazans to host countries.”

“As we have said for years, especially since the start of the war, there is no other realistic solution that guarantees Israel’s peace and security while ensuring the well-being of Gaza’s residents.”
