Syrian media reported explosions at the Khalakhla Air Base, in the north of Syria’s Suwayda province, as warplanes were heard flying over the area.
Syria TV reported yesterday evening that the airport was under attack by Israeli occupation forces.
Earlier in the day, Israeli forces carried out a sudden incursion around Ain Al-Nourieh village, northeast of Khan Arnabeh in the Quneitra countryside. The operation lasted three hours and ended with the destruction of a former regime military outpost before the forces withdrew.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) stated that this incursion is part of Israel’s repeated military operations inside Syrian territory, which target sites of a military nature.
On Saturday evening, SOHR reported an Israeli military incursion into the village of Khirbet Saisoun, located in the Yarmouk Basin area west of Daraa, coinciding with reconnaissance aircraft flying over the region.
The Quneitra and Daraa countryside in southern Syria have witnessed a series of repeated Israeli incursions since the fall of the Assad regime in early December.
SOHR reported that Israeli forces have built a new road connecting the occupied Golan to the Jazira barracks near Maariyah village in the Yarmouk Basin area, west of Daraa.
