Trump ignores torture of Palestinian prisoners

Speaking on Sunday, US President Donald Trump said Israeli captives released as part of the latest prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel were 'emaciated', adding that 'at some point, we're going to lose our patience'. Trump failed to mention the fact that the captives were kept alive in spite of Israel's carpet bombing of Gaza over the past 15 months and the starvation policy it imposed on the enclave. Nor did he highlight the treatment of Palestinian captives held in Israeli jails who are often left with lifechanging injuries and scars as a result of the torture and abuse they endure in Israeli detention.
