Israeli occupation forces burnt down several homes and a farm in southern Lebanon today, in the latest violation of a ceasefire agreement, local media said.
The Lebanese news agency NNA said several houses were set ablaze by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Al-Aadaissah.
Israeli forces also opened fire towards the outskirts of Bint Jbeil town and detonated a farm in the border area of Aita Al-Shaab, the broadcaster said. No injuries were reported.
A fragile ceasefire has been in place since 27 November, ending Israel’s intensified bombing of the capital Beirut and southern areas of Lebanon that escalated in September.
Israel has committed nearly 900 violations of the ceasefire, killing and injuring dozens in Lebanon, including women and children.
Under the ceasefire deal, Israel was supposed to complete its withdrawal from southern Lebanon by 26 January, but the deadline was extended to 18 February after Israel refused to comply. Earlier today, Israeli army spokesperson Arabic spokesperson Avichay Adraee announced on X that occupation forces will remain in southern Lebanon after 18 February as the implementation period for the ceasefire deal has been extended.
