Non-governmental organisations in Morocco have called for a “day of rage” to be held tomorrow in protest against US President Donald Trump’s plan to “take over” Gaza and forcibly displace its Palestinian residents, Anadolu reported.
In a statement issued yesterday, the Moroccan Commission for Supporting the Nation’s Causes urged for Friday to be observed as a day of anger in response to Trump’s remarks.
“We are deeply concerned about Trump’s statements regarding the forced displacement of the Palestinian people from their land and turning it into a hell,” the commission said, adding that these remarks have sparked widespread condemnation at both the Arab and international levels.
The organisation described the statements as a “violation of international law and a blatant US overreach against all legal and humanitarian principles.”
The Moroccan Initiative for Support and Solidarity, in a separate statement, called for mass protests tomorrow under the slogan: “Palestine… all of Palestine belongs to the Palestinians.”
Meanwhile, the Moroccan Front in Support of Palestine also urged demonstrations to be held against the displacement plan, affirming its continued commitment to the Palestinian cause.
