Qatar is set to supply the besieged Gaza Strip with an additional 15 million litres of fuel to help operate hospitals and shelters housing displaced families, the state-run Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported yesterday.
QNA said the additional support comes in implementation of directives of Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, bringing the total Qatari fuel supplies to 30 million litres.
The additional support aims to meet the urgent humanitarian needs in the besieged enclave, especially in the harsh winter conditions.
“The support is a confirmation of the State of Qatar’s firm position in supporting the Palestinian people and alleviating their ongoing suffering due to the [Israeli] aggression and blockade” and reflects its ongoing commitment to helping our Palestinian brothers in all the ordeals they face, QNA said.
